Pinchot State Forest comprises approximately 50,000 acres. Forestlands characterize many of the mountainous areas near the area where the Susquehanna and Lackawanna rivers meet. The park is open every day of the year, sunrise to sunset. Day use areas close at dusk.

The horse trails mentioned here are located in Lackawanna County and are the Thornhurst Snowmobile Trails.
