The Schuylkill County Therapeutic Riding Program provides horseback riding as a therapy for children and adults who are mentally, physically and emotionally challenged. We have two sites in Friedensburg and Ringtown which provide lessons 3 nights a week from May thru the end of October. We service approximately 50 students. Our 4 instructors are certified thru the Council for Education and Certification (CECTH) and attend workshops and conferences for continued education. The instructors are the only ones paid. Everyone else is a volunteer. The volunteers help with leading the horse and side walking. We are nonprofit and raise all the money to support our horses and the program thru donations, raffles and a annual benefit horse show.
